Driving your vehicle literally starts with the battery: it provides the power to your ignition to start the motor. The battery also works with the alternator to provide energy for all of the electric-powered systems and devices in your vehicle. Over time, all batteries will weaken. Original BMW Batteries are designed and tested to deliver a longer service life than conventional batteries, ready to keep up with the extra power demands of today’s wireless world.
Registering the new battery to the engine control unit (ECU) is included, and it is required to maximize power management efficiency and battery longevity. Registration resets the ECU, enabling the unit to recognize and monitor the age and mileage of the new battery, which allows the alternator to drive power to the battery only when it is needed.
Work performed in this service:
- Disconnection and reconnection of battery.
- Removal and replacement of battery.
- ECU battery registration.
All work is carried out by BMW Trained Technicians using Original BMW Parts, which come with a two-year unlimited mileage limited warranty. Warranty repairs do not constitute an extension of the original limited warranty period for the vehicle or a part thereof.
